Arash Ghiassi

Arash is dedicated to representing people who face criminal charges at both trial and appeal levels. He works tirelessly, creatively, and collaboratively with his clients to protect their freedom.

Arash received his law degree from Yale Law School. There, he learned by doing: he worked countless hours in several legal clinics and internships, especially in criminal defense. After graduation, he completed his articles at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where he provided sharp legal analysis to judges of Ontario's top court.

Before joining Rusonik, O'Connor, Robbins, Ross & Angelini, LLP as a Partner, Arash litigated test cases at a specialized legal clinic in Toronto. In that role, he worked closely with activists and community organizations from across Ontario and co-authored written arguments in a high-profile Supreme Court case. Prior to that, he worked at well-regarded civil liberties organizations on both sides of the US-Canada border.

Arash is called to the bar in Ontario and New York. He is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Movement Defense Committee of the Law Union of Ontario.

Arash provides legal services in English and Persian (Farsi) and accepts legal aid certificates. He can be contacted by email at  or via telephone at (416) 598-5257.
